Nuevo Circo de Caracas

This was an academic project that was set on a historic landmark which is the Nuevo Circo de Caracas, and old slaughter house in the late 19th century, and was refurbished and transformed into the new bull fighting ring and biggest venue place in the early 20th century. The building was abandoned for several years as bull fighting became less popular over time. in 2007 was restored, and is place for a community of circus people who practices and performs on the ring their talents. the point of the design assignment was to improve and load with an extra value for the city the landmark and the place it stands upon with a rather contemporary approach, the program of the building I design to merge and revive the place was a Library for the Arts, Design and Architecture, keeping in mind that the building was located in a cultural axis for the city with several museums of arts, design and architecture, as well for all the new housing development built in a important Avenue near by.
